Welcome to the world of KIS!
The main idea for this kindergarden was to contrast the “seemingly chaotic” park landscape with a clear, minimalistic shape. A pavilion at the park, that is connected to the urban space - the world of the grown-ups - through a narrow walkway.
The kindergarden totally merges with the park. Projecting parts of the building stretch out to the treescape, which intensifies connection between the interior and the exterior of the pavilion. In this sense, the building opens up on the southwest and creates the impression that the green flows into the kindergarden.
The structure is built in solid construction, painted in an unobtrusive colour and finished with delicate wooden elements on the façade. Also the inside is kept in rather neutral colours in order to provide an environment in which the children can unfold freely. Yet, coloured boxes will be used as means of orientation.
